Forest School Sessions

Since opening in the Summer of 2015 we have worked with a variety of groups including:

  • Activities week sessions for secondary school students.

  • An after school club at a local primary school for Key Stage 2 students.

  • Holiday club sessions for a group of children between 5 and 11 years old

  • A parent and toddler session

  • Family den days.

  • Saturday Club sessions

  • A regular, weekly progamme of sessions for students at local alternative provision schools.

  • Successful taster sessions for children from local primary and secondary schools.

  • We have run a long term pilot programme with a group of year 5 and 6 students. During this programme children the children became really familiar with the site, learnt lots of new skills and developed hugely in terms of physical and social confidence.

  • Annual sessions for all students from a local primary where each class attends for a day in the spring/summer.

  • Ongoing Wellbeing sessions for adults struggling with mental health difficulties.

  • Regular tutored sessions for people learning to whittle and carve spoons

We are lucky to have several different areas to use at Hakeford Woods with 4 main Forest School camp areas, each with shelter and a unique character. We have a number of compost toilets on site and areas for food a drink preparation.
